Payne recalled from Blue, available for Thunder

Cameron Payne is back with the Thunder.

The team on Saturday morning recalled its backup point guard from its D-League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue, and he's available to play in Saturday's 7 p.m. home game against the Denver Nuggets.

Payne, who fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot in the preseason and has not played for the Thunder this season, played two games with the Blue this week, averaging 18 points, three assists in a rebound in 20 minutes per game for the Blue this week.

That D-League experience means Payne "might be more accustomed to playing, which is probably better," guard Russell Westbrook said Saturday, than being thrown into an NBA game after a long layoff.
