Payne's manic energy oozing with swagger juxtaposed with the calm, unflappable demeanor of Huestis have created an idiosyncratic, yet fun story-time pairing. Earlier this year, the Thunder duo read a Martin Luther King Jr. biography to kids in honor of Black History Month that delivered a message of hope and goodwill.
This time around, Payne and Huestis addressed the kindergarten through second-grade students on topics of self-acceptance and peer pressure through the book "A Bad Case of Stripes" by David Shannon. The dichotomous personalities of the Payne-Huestis team became the perfect messenger to deliver the message of embracing individuality.
