PAYNE FREE: Thunder bench, led by Cameron Payne, sets the table for Westbrook's late heroics

We arrived at the arena talking about the Cavalier junior varsity. We left talking about the Thunder JV. On this Thursday night, that was a good thing. That was a very good thing.

The Thunder beat the Cavs 118-109, and this wasn't the forfeit it looked to be all afternoon. The Cleveland stars played. Played much and played mostly well.

But the Thunder played better. Russell Westbrook was his usual phenomenal self; Steven Adams dominated Tristan Thompson, reversing the verdict of a couple of weeks ago in Cleveland; Victor Oladipo hit clutch baskets, including a game-sealing 3-pointer late; Andre Roberson played valiantly, 411/2 minutes, most of which consisted of guarding LeBron James but also adding eight points and seven rebounds.
