Paul George didn’t want to even think about it, although the conversation was inevitable.
With a towel covering his broad shoulders which have carried the Thunder through much of this season, George didn’t lobby for accolades after posting 36 points and five steals in a 123-114 win against Portland on Tuesday.
George had every right to; his play has him squarely among a handful of players for both the NBA’s Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year awards.
“It don’t mean nothing at this point,” George said. “We’ve got a whole other half, 30-something games left.
