Days after being denied entrance into his home country, the Turkish government has issued an arrest warrant for Oklahoma City Thunder forward Enes Kanter.
In addition, Friday, a Turkish judge placed Kanter among the countries’ most-wanted terrorist list for both his outspoken stance toward President Recep Erdogan and affiliation with Erdogan-rival Fethullah Gulen.
Recently, Kanter appeared on CBS This Morning to detail his flight cancellation, detainment, views toward Erdogan’s regime and more.
Due to Kanter’s political leanings, the Thunder bench-leaders’ parents publicly disowned him in 2016.
Kanter’s father Mehmet, via The Norman Transcript:
"I apologize to the Turkish people and the president for having such a son.
