Oklahoma City’s Skirvin Hilton Hotel has inspired a movie starring the Celtics’ Kyrie Irving.
According to ESPN, Imagine Entertainment plans to approach the project as a satirical horror film based on a Players’ Tribune oral history of NBA players’ experiences at the historic hotel.
The Skirvin has long been the source of ghost stories, originating with the legend of Effie the housekeeper, who is said to still haunt the halls. But NBA players have added their own personal tales from their stays at the Skirvin while in town to play the Thunder.
Back in 2010, several Knicks players said they had trouble sleeping for fear the hotel was haunted.
