The Thunder has waived forward Zylan Cheatham, general manager Sam Presti announced Wednesday.
Cheatham was one of five players the Thunder received as part of the Steven Adams trade with the Pelicans.
Cheatham signed a two-way contract with New Orleans last summer, and he appeared in four games with the Pelicans. The 6-foot-5 forward was a college teammate of Thunder guard Luguentz Dort at Arizona State.
The Thunder has waived Cheatham and point guard Josh Gray in back-to-back days. Both players were acquired in the trade with New Orleans, and both agreed to similar three-year contracts as part of a sign-and-trade with Oklahoma City to make the money in the deal work.
