When the OKC Thunder drafted Terrance Ferguson last year, they had decently high expectations for him. After all, he was the most athletic guard in the country when he was a senior in high school, and seemingly had the right tools to be the next great two guard in the NBA.
Sure, he was more of a developmental project, but he already had professional basketball experience and could have a relatively smooth transition to the NBA.
Plus, Oklahoma City needed a player like Ferguson. Outside of Russell Westbrook and Paul George, they didn’t have any reliable scoring options upon whom they could rely.
