Friday night’s double overtime thriller in Orlando was filled with a month’s worth of clutch plays.
The most dramatic was Russell Westbrook’s 35-foot bank shot heave that sent the game to a first overtime. But maybe the most unlikely came from Steven Adams, who helped seal the win in the second overtime at the free throw line.
Adams, a career 53 percent foul shooter, found himself in a tough spot. The Thunder had possession and a two-point lead with 10 seconds left. Dion Waiters was inbounding. Westbrook seemed to break free in the backcourt.
