Down two with least than seven seconds to go, Russell Westbrook ran a high screen and roll with Paul George, receiving space to attack the paint where New Orleans superstar Anthony Davis was squaring up to take on Russ at the rim.
Russ had four options.
- Take on 6’10, defensive stud AD at the hoop
- Pull-up for a likely contested mid-range jumper over AD
- Make a tough pass to Steven Adams down low while Cheick Diallo draped all over him
Of all four options, the Brodie made the decision to hit the Spaniard for the three and the win but the shot just didn’t go down.
