OKC Thunder: Russell Westbrook wins second consecutive NBA All-Star MVP award

Thunder guard Russell Westbrook became only the second player in NBA history to win consecutive All-Star Game Most Valuable Player awards, logging a team-high 31 points to lead the Western Conference over the Eastern Conference 196-173 Sunday night at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Westbrook joins Hall of Famer Bob Pettit as the only players to be named back-to-back MVPs of the game. Pettit was named All-Star MVP in 1958 and shared the award with Elgin Baylor in 1959, making Westbrook the only player to earn consecutive solo All-Star MVP awards.

Westbrook added eight rebounds, five assists and five steals for the West, including seven 3-pointers.
