Four banners hang side-by-side in the rafters at Chesapeake Energy Arena, honoring the Thunder's four straight Northwest Division championships from 2010-14.
Next season, there's likely to be a fifth. Having already beaten the 10-13 Jazz three times, OKC holds a 5.5-game lead and the tiebreaker over its nearest competitor. The rebuilding Nuggets, Timberwolves and Blazers, who visit OKC on Wednesday night, round out one of the least challenging divisions in the league this season.
But in winning the Northwest crown, OKC won't get much more than a banner and some bragging rights. This offseason, the NBA reformed its seeding rules so that division winners no longer get an automatic top-four playoff spot in the conference.
