OKC Thunder: Randy Foye plays small but steady role during brief Thunder stint

Randy Foye arrived in Oklahoma City attached to $9.8 million in tax savings. By unloading both D.J. Augustin and Steve Novak — two guys out of the Thunder rotation when the trade went down in mid-February — to Denver for Foye, general manager Sam Presti sliced funds that should help his franchise in the future.

That's what made the deal appealing for OKC. Anything else Foye delivered would be a bonus.

Over the next three months, the veteran didn't play a substantial role. But he carved out a small yet important niche, delivering steady minutes in key moments to add some more value to that deadline maneuver.
