With a .500 record of 7-7 the OKC Thunder arrived in San Antonio on a three game win streak. Fans were buoyed by news Steven Adams was returning after a brief absence due to a calf injury. Adding further optimism for the potential to continue the streak was Paul George’s recent success and seeming break through offensively. Moreover, the opponent’s best player (Kawhi Leonard) remained out nursing his mysterious quad injury.
Still, there were no delusions the journey to finding an offensive balance and identity was imminent for OKC. Certainly there have been flashes, yet the OK3 have yet to find an organic flow and the reserve unit has fallen well short of expectations.
