OKC Thunder: Former Thunder assistant Ron Adams, a defensive guru, terrorizing his former pupils from the Warriors sidelines

Ron Adams' coaching career began at Fresno Pacific in 1969. It has continued for the past 47 years, bridging through seven different colleges and eight NBA stops, starting in 1992 with the pre-Tim Duncan San Antonio Spurs.

But his two-year stint in Oklahoma City remains among his favorites.

“It was exhilarating,” Adams said. “There's nothing better, whether it's college or pro sports, than when you're part of something that's growing.”

These days, Adams is the mastermind behind the Warriors' versatile, terrorizing defense. Before the season, league general managers voted him the NBA's best assistant coach. This season, as a pivotal figure behind the scenes of a record 73-win team, Adams has done nothing to alter that opinion.
