The OKC Thunder and the Thunder Cares Foundation (a subset of the NBA Cares program) helped dedicate a newly refurbished outdoor basketball court in the Hoyt Shadid Park in Altus, Oklahoma. The dedication, the 10th of its kind for the Thunder, took place on August 26.
As per the team’s press release, representatives from the Thunder staff and City of Altus were on hand for the dedication, with a celebration open to the public. The ceremony included appearances from the Thunder Girls and Thunder Drummers, as well as a photo booth, trivia station, refreshments and other activities.
Thunder vice president of Community Relations Christine Berney said this about the project:
“We are thrilled to take part in this project and bring the Thunder basketball experience to the Altus community.
