Prior to the start of the season, Alex Abrines‘ job security was looking bleak. The 25-year old Spaniard entered the third and final year of his contract in need of some big games and signature moments. Although it’s still early in the season, his recent 25-point outing could be the spark he needs.

Abrines was selected by OKC with the 32nd pick of the 2013 draft and played in Spain until 2016 when the Thunder agreed to buyout his contract with FC Barcelona Lassa and signed him to a three-year, $18 million deal.

At the time, Abrines was a promising sharpshooter looking to be the possible sixth man for a slightly rebuilding OKC Thunder team.
