Thunder guard Andre Roberson will play in a 4 p.m. Friday scrimmage against the Celtics, coach Billy Donovan said before tip-off.
Though just a scrimmage, Roberson's participation could be a significant step toward returning to the court when the regular season resumes Aug. 1.
Friday could also mark one of the final twists in Roberson's 30-month recovery from a horrific knee injury. Roberson ruptured the patellar tendon in his left knee on Jan. 27, 2018 at Detroit.
After several setbacks, Roberson hasn't played in the 909 days since his initial injury.
Roberson entered training camp this season with "no restrictions," but he didn't play in a preseason or regular season game.
