The Oklahoma City Thunder swung a trade with the Atlanta Hawks to take a flyer on some former Rockets. Houston selected TyTy Washington in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft and Usman Garuba in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft, each of them casualties of the Rockets’ rebuild before the 2023-24 NBA season even begins. Given the timing of the transactions by Houston, the two youngsters have missed most of the Summer League.
Many expected they would miss the entire run due to the trade dust settling on July 12th. However, the OKC Thunder have announced the addition of TyTy Washington to their Summer League roster this afternoon.
