Billy Donovan and the Thunder mutually agreed to part ways after five seasons.
General manager Sam Presti didn’t set a timeline for hiring Donovan’s replacement, but he did share one requirement.
“I think the No. 1 thing is always having a passion for Oklahoma City,” Presti said, “and having a passion for the Thunder and the organization.”
Given the uncertainty of how the next few months may play out, Presti and the Thunder won’t likely be in a rush to name a new head coach.
