To the casual OKC Thunder fan, Miami Heat‘s Rodney McGruder is hardly the household name. The third-year guard spent majority of the 2017-18 season recovering from a lower league stress fracture he suffered in the Heat’s final preseason game last season. The 27-year old returned toward the end of the season but ultimately found himself struggling for playing time behind Josh Richardson, Wayne Ellington and Tyler Johnson.
In 18 appearances last season, McGruder posted 5.1 points and 1.8 assists in 16.6 minutes on 49.
