It started with LeBron James and a dream.
The deeper James went into the playoffs, the louder the pitches became. James is expected to become a free agent July 1, the first day NBA teams can officially pitch to him. But long before then, people in cities across the nation were buying ad space, flying banners in prop planes and creating art to ask James to play in their cities.
James isn't the only one getting pitched to. Paul George is getting the hard push in Los Angeles, as wealthy power players have bought billboards across the city to convince him to come home and play for the Lakers.
