Alvin Gentry stood in the tunnel at Chesapeake Energy Arena, knowing he and Billy Donovan — and their two squads — would soon be trading places as hosts and visitors.
“Both teams will make adjustments after tonight,” Gentry said before his Pelicans fell to the Thunder on Friday in Oklahoma City. “We’ll have to do something better, they’ll have to do something better.”
The Thunder and Pelicans will tip-off at 4 p.m. Sunday in New Orleans — less than 48 hours before the two teams squared off in Oklahoma City.
“It’s basically like a playoff game,” Gentry said of the quick turnaround against the same team.
