The projection for Melvin Frazier varies by over 50 ranking spots. Much of this can be attributed to more of an instinctual nature to his game, rather than a fully developed fundamentally sound skill set. Additionally playing at Tulane which wasn’t a top program hasn’t exactly provided much opportunity for the small forward to gain recognition.
Therefore, Frazier is definitely a player who will fall in the risk – reward category due to these uncertainties. That said, those unknowns and his athletic prowess are impossible to ignore. For drafting teams who aren’t hard pressed to fill specific roster positions Frazier could well be worth a late first or early second round pick just to discover the true height of his ceiling.
