Thunder forward Josh Huestis was selected by the Greensboro Swarm in the seventh round of the NBA Developmental League's expansion draft on Wednesday.
What does it mean for Huestis? The 24-year-old is still a Thunder player, but if he’s waived and becomes a free agent, Greensboro would own his D-League rights. The Thunder still can send Huestis to its D-League affiliate – the Oklahoma City Blue – for assignment, and the 6-foot-7, 230-pounder still counts on the Thunder’s payroll.
Huestis has one year and $1.1 million guaranteed left on his rookie scale contract he signed before last season, with team options for the following two seasons.
