Seven-plus months removed from losing Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors, the Oklahoma City Thunder are attempting to pull off the fairly unprecedented: remaining a relevant playoff team following a superstar's departure.
Thursday's trade deadline saw OKC, which sits at 32-25 and holds the seventh seed in the Western Conference, make a move with that in mind. In their biggest trade since Durant's July 4 departure, the Thunder announced they dealt guard Cameron Payne, forward Joffrey Lauvergne and veteran Anthony Morrow to the Chicago Bulls for forwards Taj Gibson, Doug McDermott and a 2018 second-round pick.
