Once again, the Son of the Congo returned to Africa, spearheading his annual campaign to help those in need and grow the game of basketball.
It started earlier this summer, when Ibaka visited his native Congo to both visit family and continue the philanthropic efforts that he leads every offseason. From working with the Starkey Foundation to help bring the gift of hearing to the deaf in his home country to helping fund hospitals for children, Ibaka continues to support his hometown in as many ways as possible.
“It’s the only time I can do it, so for sure it’s fun,” Ibaka said of going back home to the Congo.
