When Steven Adams was asked Thursday about his upcoming wrestling match with Nikola Jokic, Adams shrugged.
“He’s obviously a problem,” Adams said of Denver’s All-Star center.
Jokic was a problem for the Thunder on Friday night — an immovable problem who pairs his 7-foot and 253-pound frame with guard-like skills.
But Adams, after a sluggish offensive start, was a problem for the Nuggets. The Thunder center scored 19 points and secured 17 rebounds in Oklahoma City’s 113-101 win against Denver in the first game back from the All-Star break.
Through three quarters, Adams was just 3-of-10 from the field with nine points.
