Former Thunder assistant Anthony Grant was named AP Coach of the Year on Tuesday after guiding Dayton to a 29-2 record that could have earned the Flyers a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Grant spent two seasons on the Thunder staff from 2015-17. His relationship with Billy Donovan dates back to Florida, where Grant spent 10 seasons as Donovan's assistant.
Grant is 64-31 in three seasons at Dayton, his alma mater. Grant received 30 of the 65 votes to win the award. Baylor coach Scott Drew finished second.
Dayton forward Obi Toppin was named AP National Player of the Year.
