Thunder assistant Mike Miller is making his return to Madison Square Garden on Friday night after guiding the Knicks for 44 games last season as interim head coach.
Miller, who took over after David Fizdale was fired, went 17-27 as Knicks head coach. Tom Thibodeau was hired as the Knicks’ new coach last July, and Miller was not retained.
Miller found a home in Oklahoma City, on the staff of first-year coach Mark Daigneault.
Daigneault and Miller became acquainted when they coached against each other in the G League. Daigneault coached the Oklahoma City Blue for five seasons and Miller spent four seasons coaching the Westchester Knicks.
