Thunder guard Dennis Schroder recorded a double-double in Germany’s FIBA World Cup first-round finale Thursday, a 96-62 pummeling of Jordan.
After Germany lost its first two Group Phase games, guaranteeing that it would finish in the bottom half of Group G, Germany already faced relegation to the Classification Round.
“That was pretty tough for us, but we still had a goal," forward Maxi Kleber said, "which was to play our best game today and prove that we are a different team than what we showed the first two days.”
Germany put an emphasis on sharing the ball heading into Tuesday’s game against winless Jordan, and Schroder led the way in that category.
