Durant "Honored" by Induction into Oklahoma Hall of Fame

TULSA – At just 20 years old, Kevin Durant was handed a responsibility that not many young men could have handled. It wasn’t just to be an elite player on an NBA team. Rather, it was to help build a special, unique franchise that completely transformed a city that was experiencing the NBA in a permanent way for the first time.

The incredible challenge that it was didn’t prevent Durant from taking it head on, as he contributed to creating the culture and identity of the Thunder organization season after season. That’s why, after just seven years of Thunder basketball in the state, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame decided to induct Durant as one of eight members in the 2015 class on Thursday night.
