Mike Bibby is nearly 20 years removed from the time he became an icon in Sacramento. Now, 41, Bibby left the NBA with a decade’s worth of playoff experience but no championship.
Bibby was in Oklahoma City on Sunday with the BIG3 3-on-3 basketball league. Seven years removed from his last NBA game, he’s still haunted.
"It hurts that we never did," Bibby said of failing to win a championship with the Kings during five playoff appearances in the 2000’s.
Bibby’s pain is shared by many NBA fan bases, but what often goes unaccounted for is the indelible effect those teams, win or lose, leave on cities.
