Russell Westbrook came firing off the bench to chest bump Dennis Schroder at the end of a character-check of a third quarter on Saturday.
Mired in an all-around slump to start 2019, Schroder needed the confidence. When the 24-year-old guard is at his best, he combines swagger with focus, what he displayed in the Thunder's 122-112 win against the Spurs on Saturday.
Maybe Schroder, who scored all 19 of his points after halftime, just needed to get angry.
“He really came out and in the second half and played much more close to who he is as a player,” Thunder coach Billy Donovan said.
