The money matters.
Kyle Singler played in 32 games for the Thunder this season and averaged 12 minutes. He scored 88 points. He made 37 3-pointers. He had his moments, but he was a guy at the end of the bench who mostly stayed there, like a lot of guys in the NBA.
But he made $4.8 million in the second year of a five-year, $25 million contract. That's a factor in any evaluation of Singler.
Except his own.
“I don't ever face myself in the mirror saying, ‘Oh, since I make a certain amount of money, I should be productive in this way,'” Singler said.
