Sometime during training camp, I asked some of the guys a question about Russell Westbrook. With all this talk about sacrificing and meshing, all this talk about chemistry with new superstar teammates Carmelo Anthony and Paul George, could everything be solved by a simple challenge.
Could the Thunder buy itself insurance against any kind of disconnect by telling Westbrook to lead the league in assists?
Why not? Westbrook is a why-not kind of guy, perhaps you’ve heard, and any hint of Westbrook not being able to accomplish some achievement is usually followed by Westbrook scaling that exact mountain.
