Steven Adams downplayed it slightly on Monday. Billy Donovan didn’t on Wednesday.
The NBA is changing the shot clock reset from 24 seconds to 14 seconds after an offensive rebound, and Adams said at Thunder Media Day that teams will still have plenty of time to run offense.
To start Thunder training camp, Donovan has assessed the shortened shot clock tweak and a couple of other league-wide points of emphasis with a coach’s eye.
“I don’t think it necessarily has to be this point of focus, but we have to have an awareness of that,” Donovan said.
