The odds are good that Andre Roberson will return to the court after rehab from a ruptured patellar tendon.
But the Thunder guard has some work ahead of him.
Roberson underwent what's expected to be season-ending surgery on Sunday, a day after rupturing the patellar tendon in his left knee in a game against the Pistons. He's looking at a recovery time of “likely at least six months,” said Dr. Dan Lorenz, a sports physical therapist based in Overland Park, Kan.
But a recent study of NFL players with patellar tendon ruptures indicated that about 80 percent of them return to play at the same or higher level, Lorenz said.
