HOUSTON – The saying goes “shooters keep shooting.” Thunder coach Billy Donovanhas reinforced Alex Abrines with that. So has Russell Westbrook.
After Westbrook set Abrines up with a chance to win the game in New Orleans two weeks ago, he did it again on a similar look from the right wing against Minnesota on Monday.
Both missed. The Thunder lost both games. That doesn’t mean Westbrook should stop making that pass to Abrines.
“He told me before, I think it was in New Orleans and we’d run the same play, ‘If they commit, I’m going to pass it to you, so be ready,’” Abrines told The Oklahoman after the Thunder’s 114-112 loss to Minnesota on Sunday.
