Steven Adams. Enes Kanter. 50 restless kids. And dogs. Big ones. All inside the library at Cleveland Elementary for a reading of Tad Hills' "Rocket Writes a Story"—an account of a dog's struggle and breakthrough in learning to read to write.
When Thunder big men Adams and Kanter spotted Denali, a mammoth 140-pound Newfoundland, a combination of awe and intrigue struck their faces. The size of the black long-haired three-year-old canine prompted the 6-foot-11 Kanter to compare her to a grizzly bear in amazement. Adams then quipped, "Looks like a good rug."
Then there was a four-year old chocolate Lab named Buddy, sporting a Thunder handkerchief, clocking in at 90 pounds—a relatively "normal-sized" dog according to the 7-foot Adams.
