CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Thunder put itself on the free throw line again, something it's done more than any team in the NBA per game this season. The action on the opposite end was more interesting.
As Jerami Grant was stepping to the line, Russell Westbrook was just above the opposite 3-point line. Westbrook was mimicking his shooting motion from 3, then took a few steps inside the arc and did it again while shaking his head.
Alex Abrines needed no such practice in the Thunder's gritty 111-107 victory against the Hornets on Thursday.
The Thunder won its third consecutive game with Westbrook struggling for the first 3½ quarters and Paul George struggling on offense the entire game.
