TORONTO – In the midst of a lighthearted competition with his All-Star teammates, Russell Westbrook launched the ball from mid-court, like he’s done hundreds of times before. As it dropped through the net, the crowd at the Ricoh Coliseum roared.
It was a joyous atmosphere at the Western Conference All-Stars’ practice session on Saturday afternoon, as Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook had a chance to join their teammates on the floor for the only time prior to Sunday night’s All-Star Game, the 65th in NBA history.
Durant and Westbrook chatted it up on the court with one another and with some of the NBA’s very best players as they went through some basic drills and got some shots up to stay in some semblance of basketball rhythm.
