In what won't be the last bit of Thunder news equating superstar Kevin Durant and NBA history, the 25-year-old now finds himself sharing some space in the record books with His Airness himself.
Scoring 28 points in Friday night's 111-107 loss to the Rockets in Houston, Kevin Durant reached the perhaps unthinkable --

To clarify, Durant tied the modern-day NBA record accomplished twice by Jordan: once in 1986-87, and again in 1988. The NBA's all-time record, per ESPN Stats & Info, is held by Wilt Chamberlain with a staggering 80, followed by Oscar Robertson with 47.
Which is not to say that Durant, at his current pace, can't approach such rarefied air. His current run, barely in his mid-twenties, may not be in danger of ending anytime soon.
The Thunder's five-time NBA All-Star has made the leap from great to otherworldly this season, posting a career-high and league-leading 32.1 points per game. Durant has also played 2802 minutes this season, proving himself to be the second-most durable starter in the NBA in 2013-14.
