The San Antonio Spurs currently hold a 2-1 lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder, but the series has been as close as any. This will undoubtedly continue to be a back-and-forth series, but OKC will find a way to emerge victorious and advance to the Western Conference Finals. Here are three reasons why:
3) Athleticism
Much has been made of the San Antonio system of success, but that's exactly what it is - a system. Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge are the only players capable of keeping up with Oklahoma City from a talent perspective, and theold core surrounding them simply isn't able to keep up with OKC's many elite athletes.
2) Depth, depth, depth
The Thunder have been crippled by a short bench in recent years, but that hasn't been the case. Enes Kanter and Dion Waiters are capable of playing starter minutes, and Nick Collison, Anthony Morrow and Cameron Payne have proven to be capable contributors as well. When they play well, the Thunder are virtually impossible to beat.
1) Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook
Say what you will about their ability to play together, no other team in the league can say that they have two of the top five or six players in the league. Durant and Westbrook are both unstoppable offensive forces that San Antonio hasn't been able to stop. Assuming it stays that way (which, they've showed no signs of slowing down), OKC will be in good hands.
