Ohio State wrestler Kyle Snyder and former Buckeye Reece Humphrey earned spots on the United States team by winning titles on Sunday at the U.S. world team trials in Madison, Wis.
Snyder, who was an NCAA and Big Ten runner-up as a true freshman last season, defeated 2012 Olympic champion Jake Varner in the best-of-three finals at 213 pounds, winning 4-1 and 3-0. The 28-year-old Humphrey, a two-time all-American, easily got past David Dennis in the 134-pound final with a 12-1 technical fall and a 4-1 decision.
