Former Ohio State center Jantel Lavender, the program's all-time leading scorer and rebounder, has been selected as a finalist for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Women’s Basketball Team.
The 25 finalists were selected by the USA Basketball Women’s National Team Player Selection Committee, which will select the official 12-member U.S. Olympic Team later this year.
A WNBA all-star last season with the Los Angeles Sparks, Lavender started 136 games for the Buckeyes between 2008-11. She scored 2,818 points, collected 1,422 rebounds and remains the only four-time Big Ten player of the year in conference history.
