The Ohio State women’s basketball team hopped out to a large lead early Sunday at Value City Arena and employed multiple lineups on the way to an 89-56 rout of Canisius.
Ohio State (8-3) was active on the defensive end, regularly getting easy points from picking off the Golden Griffins’ inbounds passes, occasionally ripping the ball from a player’s hands and generally making it an uncomfortable game for the visitors. It's something that coach Kevin McGuff said was a focus last week in practice.
“I thought our defense was better than it has been,” he said. “We were close to having a really good day defensively but as it was, I think it was pretty good.
