As fate would have it, it seems likely that Ohio State is about to suffer the consequences of the 2012 BCS National Championship game and last season’s favoritism. No one wanted to see a rematch between Alabama and LSU, but the computers said these were the two best teams. That game was not the sole reason for the birth of the College Football Playoff, but it certainly pushed the conversation.
