COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State flipped four-star quarterback Dwayne Haskins of Potomac (Md.) The Bullis School and four-star linebacker Keandre Jones of Olney (Md.) Good Counsel from their commitments to Maryland on the same day.
The Buckeyes also got a commitment from four-star wide receiver Binjimen Victor of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Coconut Creek that mid-January day, so it may have been the single-most impactful day of recruiting during Urban Meyer's tenure.
If there were an early signing period in college football, it's possible that day would have never happened. Maybe Haskins -- Ohio State's quarterback of the future -- and Jones would be on their way to Maryland.
