Ohio State's highest-paid athletics department employees, including Ryan Day, Chris Holtmann, Gene Smith, the football program's top assistant coaches and other personnel all agreed to voluntary 5% pay cuts in October, running through next June, according to the Columbus Dispatch's Joey Kaufman.
Day's cut totals $246,778, Holtmann will give back $102,024 and Smith's will total $57,960.
With director of player personnel Mark Pantoni, strength and conditioning coach Mickey Marotti and director of football operations Brian Voltolini also included, the football program's assistant coaches are giving back $347,618.
Within Holtmann's program, a savings of $40,313 will be realized via cuts to the salaries of Jake Diebler, Terry Johnson and Ryan Pedon.
